PLEASE TAKE NOITCE THAT TWO PUBLIC HEARINGS WILL BE HELD BY THE Town Board of the Town of Machias on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 6:45 P.M. at the Machias Town Hall, 3483 Roszyk Hill, Machias, New York regarding a local law adopting the 2025 Uniform Code of the State of New York, and the adoption of the Town of Machias Comprehensive Plan as local law. Both local laws are available for review in the Town Clerk’s office and on the Town website, www.machiasny.gov.
The regular meeting of the Town Board will be held on Tuesday February 17, 2026, not Monday, February 16, 2026, because of the Federal Holiday. The monthly meeting of the Town Board will begin at the conclusion of the public hearings.

COLLECTOR’S NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that I, the undersigned, collector of taxes in and for the Town of Machias, County of Cattaraugus, State of New York, have received the warrant for the collection of the taxes of the said town for the present year, and that I will attend at The Machias Town Hall, 3483 Roszyk Hill Road, Machias, New York for the purpose of receiving payment of said taxes the following days and times:
Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Tuesday 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Further, take notice that taxes may be paid on or before February 2, 2026, without charge of interest. On all taxes collected after such date there shall be added interest of one percent for each month until the return of the unpaid taxes is made to the Cattaraugus County Treasurer on the 1St day of April, 2026.
Please pay by mail or drop-box, if possible. Include the receiver’s stub with payment and keep the top portion for your receipt.

The Town of Machias Planning Committee meets at 6 pm on the 4th Monday of each month at the Fellowship Church, 3519 Roszyk Hill Road, Machias. Everyone is welcome.

Attention all residents & visitors to Lime Lake. The Machias Fire Department has asked that we remind you that there is no parking on the streets around the Lake. This restriction is for your safety and that of your neighbors. If the fire trucks or ambulance can't get through to a call, the result could be devastating. Please be a good neighbor/citizen and park somewhere else.
